Terms of Service
These terms cover the Perpendis console, the relying-party workspace and the evidence packs produced by either.
1. What Perpendis is
Perpendis produces evidence about an AI system: a versioned pack of domain results, a signed computational-integrity attestation and a list of documentary gaps, shareable with a named relying party by read-only link.
2. What Perpendis is not
- Not a certification. We are not an accredited conformity-assessment body and issue no certificate.
- Not a statement that any law requires the pack. Mapping to AIUC-1 or EU AI Act Annex IV headings is organisation and citation, not conformity assessment.
- Not a warranty about your system's behaviour. A pack is point-in-time and pinned to one model version.
- Not a transfer of your duty of care. A deployer's obligations are unchanged by obtaining or sharing a pack.
3. Sample data — read this before relying on a pack
Exactly one domain is measured: computational integrity, produced by the Perpendis engine and
sealed with an Ed25519 signature anyone can verify. The other seven carry illustrative
sample figures, labelled sample wherever a score appears.
Presenting a sample-labelled figure to a third party as a measurement of your system breaches
these terms.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for your credentials and the accuracy of what you register. Do not register a system you are not authorised to describe. We may suspend an account used to misrepresent evidence.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you enter: system descriptions, endpoint URLs, uploaded documents. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service — to store it, show it in your console, and render the snapshot you share into your links. We do not use your content to train models.
Never enter a credential. Endpoint URLs are stored in the clear and shown to relying parties; the console rejects URLs carrying a key, token or password. Model weights and API keys never reach us.
6. Share links and reliance
A share link is read-only, scoped to one pack version and one named relying party, expires on a date you choose (up to 365 days), and can be revoked by you at any time from the console. Revocation stops the link resolving; it does not retract a copy already downloaded or printed.
A reliance letter is a separate, optional instrument arranged by email with the assessed party, never with the relying party: one named relying party, purpose-limited, point-in-time, with a stated liability cap. None exists unless signed.
7. The relying-party workspace
Open to underwriters, brokers, auditors and reinsurers. Opening a pack creates no contract and no right of reliance — only the letter in section 6 does that.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not present sample-labelled figures as measurements.
- Do not edit, re-key or re-render a pack so it appears to say something the engine did not produce; the signature makes that detectable.
- Do not attempt to read another organisation's data or probe for access you have not been granted. Report anything you find to platform@vbounds.com.
9. Availability and change
Perpendis is early access; features described as sample, planned or not yet built may change or may not ship. We will not silently relabel unmeasured data as measured: if a domain goes live, the pack says so and the change is dated.
10. Charges
We will not charge you for anything without agreeing it with you in writing beforehand.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our aggregate liability arising out of the service is limited to the greater of £1,000 and any fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, where a reliance letter is in force, the cap in that letter. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not disclaim liability to a known relying party by blanket clause.
12. Termination
You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account and its data (see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate for a material breach of section 8, having told you what it is.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are contracting from elsewhere, tell us before signing.
14. Changes to these terms
We post the updated date above and email account holders at least 14 days before a change that materially affects them takes effect.
